But because we do not present an impossible number on TrueCar as we disclose an all-in price on there for both new and used (except TTL but that is completely set in stone, not our money),

When you use other sites, you will see the large dealerships first, those who pay the most money to be at the top of the page or “featured” For example, I am on the lowest auto trader plan with my dealership. Our cars don’t show up until you get to page 7 or 8.

Also, just fyi, USAA actually owns a not-insignificant piece of TrueCar, as it was the lead investor in a large private funding round back in 2011.

The used car I bought was through a TrueCar lead. I don't think I even got that price when I got to the dealer thanks to the fees that weren't mentioned in the TrueCar price, so yeah, I don't think it's useful at all, to be honest. It might be a better fit for new cars but I've never bought new.
