Safelink BYOP/Smartphone: CDMA or GSM LTE sim card?
2012年1月9日 · On Facebook Safelink says BYOP phones must be compatible with CDMA LTE sim cards. But Tracfone says their BYOP/Smartphones are compatible with ATT, T-mobile and Verizon unlocked phones. See here. (I am in Seattle.) ATT is GSM, T-mobile is GSM, Verizon is CDMA (but I don't think they use SIM cards.)

2024年6月21日 · I did have my Safelink Verizon Tracfone service moved to different phones a couple times. TF chat helped with this. When I later put regular TF service on a phone (Iphone SE 2) that used to be on Safelink, the phone got deactivated after a while for no reason (I had plenty of service days).

2016年12月31日 · Just finished the last application online a few days ago. As of today, all were approved. Safelink has already sent shipping confirmation emails for the SIM cards for some of them. All of them will be using them in unlocked iPhone SE.(work fine for Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile) Does Safelink use AT&T or T-Mobile for new BYOD users?

2009年5月2日 · The bigger issue turned out to be poor signal strength on the 'G' phone. I was having to stand outside and wander around the yard to try and make a call. Tracfone/SafeLink 'G' phones use T-Mobile in my area, and I live in a marginal reception zone at best.

Of course, you have to provide Safelink with all the new serial numbers so they can do the switch. Also, you might have to go to code entry mode and punch in some codes. That is usually the part that gets on my last nerve, but it goes with the territory.

If you use a California ZIP code it goes to the Net10 BYOP page, which is weird as adding airtime in the T&C refers to Tracfone airtime cards.
