The reason in my mind is that it keeps the shorter iron heads from getting under a headcover and damaging a shaft. My bag would be setup: Top row: Driver, alignment sticks. 2nd: 3wd, 2h, 3 h, 4 h.

Build the entire iron set around this club. 100 yard club. Needs to be a great utility club to cover the gap down to the next wedge you choose.

Joined Mar 2016. Posted February 2. 48, 54, 58 for me. The 48 is a 2021 T200 gap wedge, 54 is a Vokey SM8 54 S, and, the 58 is a SM5 K. I have a 52F SM6, but, it seemed a bit close to my 48, so, I went with a 54, which, I find to quite versatile around the green. RoyN.
