Aug 30, 2020 · I did a lot of digging under "tv monitor displayport", narrowing into news and such, and saw the various reports of it being announced last year, and finally had it come up as available on a number of UK retailers' websites. The specs on it are in the link I provided. Unfortunately, none of the retailers ship it to the US. Even Amazon UK won't.

May 30, 2020 · I got a cheap HP T620 to use for TV Streaming, installed Win7 and bought a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter cable to hook it up to a Philips 37pfl7403d. With my HP monitor it works flawlessly, but on the TV I get no Signal. Does this mean I need an active adapter? Why does it work on the monitor then? Thanks in advance.

May 17, 2021 · I have recently completed a clean install of Windows. I have a monitor with speakers (ASUS VG27AQ) and since doing a clean install, sound does not work via DisplayPort, but does work via HDMI. I have done a lot of the normal checks like sound level, setting the device as default, uninstalling and re-installing sound drivers etc. with no luck.

Nov 4, 2020 · ( TV - Soundbar ) connected on ARC HDMI 2.0, I can confirm that Surround Sound works, Even Dolby Atmos works! on Netflix, Prime Apps on TV. Also, there is no possibility of lending Friend's Monitor, so I have no other choice but to try and do myself Displayport to HDMI cable connected to soundbar HDMI in!

Oct 23, 2014 · The only UHD TV manufacturer that wants our PC business is Panasonic. Their TC-65AX900U television is the only one I've found that has a DisplayPort input, but it retails for $5500. The spec sheets from Panasonic's lower priced lines do mention at least one, "HDMI (4K 60 Input)", which I interpret as HDMI 2.0.

May 30, 2023 · DisplayPort has not enough bandwidth for 1440p@240hz with more than 8 bit. This means it will use Display Stream Compression (DSC) while enabling HDR. This shouldn't noticeably effect image quality but HDMI 2.1 has more bandwidth and can do 1440p@240 HDR without compression.

Missing audio when using conversion from DisplayPort to HDMI
Mar 14, 2016 · I am connecting my desktop pc (equipped with DisplayPort and DVI-A) to my Sony Bravia TV using a DisplayPort-to-HDMI cable. Prblem is, the audio is missing. When I am in audio/settings, the digital HDMI cannot be configures as it appears not to be plugged in, and I only have the choice of the speakers. Video works fine.

May 29, 2021 · I don’t understand why TV manufacturers like Sony, LG and Samsung won’t throw in DP onto their TVs. With DisplayPort 1.4, it is pretty much equal to HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.0 is significantly more capable than HDMI 2.1. I’m not saying that HDMI should be completely done like DVI and VGA, but DisplayPort should be used more often.
