May 1, 2022 · 4.6 F-150 from 04-07 literally is a Crown Vic when it comes to the engine and transmission. Crown Vics are tough as shit, and were used as taxis, police interceptors, and you can normally find them with stupid amounts of miles on them all over the used market.

Jun 30, 2020 · The Chevy in the year range you mentioned are generally good trucks. The LS engines are very reliable, but the 4L60E 4 speed is a bit fragile. The heavier Duty 6-speed 6L80E that they started out with an 09 is a good transmission. The 4L80E in the heavy half and other earlier heavy duty trucks is a beast. The late 90s Chevy are good trucks as well.
