The best is the Highlander Hybrid, but the 3rd row is more for emergencies or children. Also, only the lower trims offer bench seats. You should be able to find an XLE trim w/ bench seat for under $50k. The next best are going to the Grand Highlander and Sienna (both hybrid) - but both will be more expensive than the regular Highlander.

Interior is pretty nice too. The 2nd row will fit a skinny adult with 2 car seats as long as your car seats are not ginormous. It won't be very comfortable. The 3rd row is pretty small and getting back there is a pain and trunk space is non-existent with the third row up. If you're going to regularly use a 3rd row, get a minivan.

Love my Elantra- it’s WAYYYY too small for road trips, and car seats (at least for my preference). Mar 24, 2022 · Can't beat a Toyota Sienna for road trips. 3 row SUVs simply cant fit 6/7 people's worth of cargo in their trunks without a roof rack or trailer. Sienna, you definitely can. 3rd row for passengers is also way more comfortable. Reputation is unbeatable. New Siennas are hybrid as well saving tons of money on gas.

This is what ya get for looking for a 3 row SUV instead of a mini van or something along those lines. Manufacturers know on people shy away from mini vans so the 3 rows get a ridiculous MSRP bump and "luxury" options. I grew up with a van that was far better than many 3 rowers out there and went many places other SUVs couldn't or wouldn't.
