2008年1月27日 · Terrific story. I usually don't like telling my Winchester Ranger 147gr 9mm deer hunting story because my friends and associates usually chastise me. They don't like the fact that I've successfully hunted deer with a 9mm and that specific bullet (Ranger 147gr). It's true, that bullet in 9mm works beautifully.
It is 2022. Not 1986. Is 357/9mm ammo types now better...
2022年2月27日 · The FBI and the military has gone back to the 357/9mm bullet in 9mm for good reasons. The 9mm gun metals and new alloys are better than the 9mm guns from 1986. Most new 40 cal and 9mm guns are essentially the same guns. New 9mm ammo +p and +p+ designed for these new alloys can not be shot in old guns pre 1990s.
So is anybody using “Modern 9mm” for whitetail deer or hogs?

2020年5月5日 · The only 9mm FMJ I try to avoid is WWB and sometimes even it is good. The primary reason I avoid it is it’s usually priced higher than every thing else. Out of all the cheap ammo I buy it’s the only ammo I’ve ever had issue with.

2012年12月14日 · The .30 cal carbine round is bigger than the 9mm Luger round. There just isn't enough power there. ALSO -- You should check your laws. Here in WI we have minimum barrel lengths, bullet velocities, etc. for hunting with a hand gun. A Glock would be ILLEGAL for deer in WI due to barrel length. That's why I hunt with a Desert Eagle .44 Mag!
357 maximum vs 350 legend - The High Road
2019年7月12日 · The 350 legend is actually a 9mm not the same as a 357. The only advantage I see is that it shoots very accurately . Its a pointed boolit also, that has very little drop out to 240 yards, its maximum potential for deer and smaller game. Advantage 2 over the 357 max is that Mike Bellm Is having a hard time getting the Max off the ground.

2015年1月12日 · The subsonic 9mm Parabellum is 147 gr at 990 ft/sec for 320 ft/lbs. The 220gr Blackout beats the 9mm subsonic as an antipersonnel round, its niche purpose. Its purpose is not deer hunting with the average hunter. I'd think of using the 125 gr .300 Blackout for deer, but not the subsonic load.

Would a 9mm, be enough protection agansit a moutain lion?
2004年1月12日 · Many guides use .38 specials for Mountain Lions, but they are shooting a treed animal usually. A 9mm would work for protection, they are basically thin skinned and 100-200 lbs, just like people. If you trust a 9mm for people, it should be okay. As for a surprise attack, a KNIFE, (fixed blade 8" or larger) would be better.
