I recently compared the Costco HVAC company in Colorado with other companies for replacing my gas furnace with an air source heat pump. The Costco company was the most expensive option and least efficient. Ended up going with an electrification company whose product qualified for rebates and incentives where the Costco company did not.

2022年7月29日 · For both our garage door replacement and HVAC replacement I found the Costco reps prices to be much higher than local companies (even with the cash card rebate). Garage doors were the same exact models and priced ~$2k higher. The HVAC was a different brand, but comparable in quality, reliability, and warranty and priced more like $4-5k higher.

Furthermore, the Costco authorized dealer who came, said they don’t install LENNOX brands of units, instead, they install DAIKEN, but it will qualify for the 15% cash card.

Lennox in general was on the higher end, but not the most expensive if I remember correctly. The Costco connection was more expensive than another company using Lennox and had worse reviews.

I called my regular HVAC guy and he told me it’s completely worthless but if I really want it he can get me one for $300. I don’t think Costco spends that much time vetting these subcontractors.

My quote from Wolfer's was also extreme, and the rep even told me that there might be new, lower cost deals if I called back in a week and didn't go through Costco (wink wink).

2022年12月12日 · I got a bid through Costco, it was a local chainc well known with good reputation. They came in at twice as much as other bids. I ended up getting a Carrier high efficiency furnace and AC for 1/2 the price and still got 10 year warranty. I suggest asking getting a Costco bid and a couple from reputable vendors in your area.

2022年7月22日 · Costco uses Lennox Systems and the installation company in my area did a really good job. In fact without saying a word, they suggested a less expensive option than any other HVAC company suggested. We ended up using them for regular maintenance because they did such a good job. Plus we got back a sizeable rebate in the form of a Costco Cash Card.
