Faster Razor MX650 by changing engine sprocket
With a higher gear ratio the Razor MX650 dirt bike's motor is capable of powering the bike to speeds faster than 17 MPH on flat ground however with an increase in gear ratio the torque at the rear wheel will be decreased so the bike will not be as good at climbing hills or traveling through loose dirt, grass, mud, or sand.
Razor mx650 upgraded to 48V - now i need need motor that fits
The Razor MX500 and MX650 original motor is 5-1/4" long, and the 1000 Watt motors are 6" long. We have 48 Volt 1800 Watt 4400 RPM brushless motors that are 5-1/4" long and will fit the MX5000/MX650 frame though. The original MX650 motor is around 2500 RPM so increasing the motor speed up to 4400 RPM will just about double the top speed of the bike.

Need more Torque and longer Run Time for Razor MX650
I have 10 year old triplets (1 boy and 2 girls) that each got a Razor MX650 for Christmas. The batteries on two of them have already given out and so the run time on flat roads is only a couple minutes each. The kids weigh between 80 and 90 pounds and use the bikes on both hard flat surfaces and also a dirt track with hills and jumps.

We now make custom wheel sprockets and can make wheel sprockets for the MX500 MX650 and SX500 dirt bikes for #25 chain up to 185 teeth and for 8mm (T8F) chain up to 146 teeth, however, we do not know what the largest rear wheel sprocket size is that will work with the bike's frame and swingarm, so that will need to be determined before ordering.

I have a Razor MX650 with a 6 pin throttle (five wires). There are two black wires. I assume they don't carry current and I put the black multimeter lead on one of them. The third wire said 4.5V regardless of the throttle position. The fourth wire fluctuated from 0.8V to 3.3V as I turn the throttle. The fifth wire showed 39V.

Razor only sells complete MX650 battery packs made of three batteries with the wiring harness soldered to the batteries, and they do not sell individual batteries. If you get the battery manufacturer's name and the model number off the side of one of the batteries then maybe an identical battery could be found online though.

For a 48 Volt battery pack made from 12Ah or 15Ah batteries a 48 Volt 1.6 Amp charger works very well and recharges the battery pack slowly (6-8 hours if deeply discharged) which helps to increase its lifespan.
