The Slim PS2 model is the worst console I have ever owned.
2018年12月28日 · After doing research it turns out that this is a known issue with the Slim PS2. The laser ribbon cable over time loses it's adhesive and when the laser moves towards the outer position the ribbon bulges up and touches the disc causes the circular scratching. Sony really did a shitting job trying to cram a PS2 into a slimmer case.

2017年12月29日 · PS2's can be found for pretty cheap. I found my PS2 slim at a thrift store in near perfect condition for $20. You can get component cables to clean up the signal quite a bit from composite (you can use the ones made for PS2 or PS3 because it's the same port).

2020年1月20日 · If so then it's the disc reader. You can try cleaning it, but outside of that not much that can be done and that only lets you play 2-5 times you try if you're lucky. My PS2 can't read blue discs anymore clear discs should still play fine though. Also the slim PS2 is outright incompatible with some select games.
