I would like to compare GreenBlock, Fox Blocks, PolySteel, Quad-Lock, and Logix. arkie: I've noticed the difference between different companies. Fox Block uses II EPS with the 1.5. I think Quad-Lock uses IX EPS.

2017年1月30日 · The blocks and ties themselves are pretty tough and appear to take the CC without a hint of failure. the markings on the blocks make hand cutting layout easy(did some mitered corners to save on excess corners ordered), they run thru the table saw fairly easily.

2017年4月20日 · I placed my 12" ledgers a few inches above the top of the 8" blocks. I did this to maintain an 8' ceiling in the basement. I went 7 courses of 6" block, resulting in about 9-1/2' ceilings on the main floor. For electrical, I cut an access hole in the basement, right below the ledger, and directly below the outlet opening upstairs.

2015年4月9日 · This discussion has been very helpful to me as per ICF and forming walls for my project. Looks like conventional plywood forms for inner walls is the way to go. But for exterior walls I back at drawing board. I am still very interested to see what a Fox Blocks or similar double sided ICF wall would look like stripped of foam.

2008年11月12日 · Why are the Fox Blocks so much cheaper than others? I know their advertised prices don't include the price of shipping. I also understand that not all blocks are created equally. IN the past I have used the owens corning product. In my opinion Buildblock, Logix, etc have better products, but the owens product worked just fine.

2008年10月6日 · if it is going to be a conditioned crawl space then you will need to install foam on the interior any way if your in a cold weather climate . with icfs you have 2 1/2 '' of foam on the interior and exterior so the concrete doesn't have direct contact with 4' of frost in the winter so it will cost less to condition that space , around here it …

2014年12月17日 · With Fox, they won't line up on the outside, so I had to trim the 8" blocks so that the 6" blocks would line up. It shouldn't be that hard to modify an existing plan for ICF. Bear in mind that the exterior walls are a lot thicker than conventional stick framing, so you will want to be careful of room sizes and window placements.

2009年2月16日 · NUDURA is a great ICF we have used tens of thousand sf, but only one house in the past year. It was the best value for me in 2005 and 2006. Flippable is a plus, the folding is a plus but I think I get a straight wall easier with a rigid block.
