You can adjust the input levels to some degree. At any rate it is worth trying, and won't hurt anything.

I use default screen record in my ipad and when I check the fps of recorded videos from my macbook, the fps usually says 60fps but some videos have 30 fps.

In FileBrowser open the AC3 or VOB with nPlayer. FileBrowser has a lite version, but I forget its limitations as I went to the full version.
