You can connect a DisplayPort device directly to a Thunderbolt 2 port. You can connect a USB device to a USB type A port. A USB-C dock usually has USB and DisplayPort signals.

The Transfer is now saying it will transfer in 18 hours and is going up. I swapped out the Ethernet cable with a Cross over cable and Directly connected them.

Thunderbolt 3 doesn't support USB-C Display Port Alternate Mode and USB-C doesn't support Thunderbolt 2, but Thunderbolt 3 does support Thunderbolt 2. If you want to drive a Thunderbolt 1/2 display, you have to use a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 1/2 dongle, anything else won't work.

2017年2月20日 · The problem with this approach is that the USB-C hub is a simple USB device. The Thunderbolt 2 port on the Mac side will expect a Thunderbolt 1/2 (or 3+adapter) device which this is not. It's "compatible" with Thunderbolt 3 ports because USB protocol is always available on a TB3 port (alongside Thunderbolt, DisplayPort, and Power in some cases).

2017年1月10日 · The Apple Thunderbolt 3 to 2 adapter, according to the specs, only carries the Thunderbolt signal so the only thing you can connect to with what you described is a Thunderbolt 3 device with a female connector. Just using the cable you have you can connect to a Thunderbolt 2 device with a female connector.
