Knies has tallied eight goals and four assists through 20 games, giving him 12 to date — good for fifth-best on the Maple Leafs. Meanwhile, Domi has six assists and a 48.0 percent faceoff success rate in his first 19 outings and was beginning to build chemistry with Knies and Nylander on the second line before disaster struck.

With the Maple Leafs injured and the Bruins struggling at the quarter mark of the season, the two teams could be a strong match for a trade.

However, with the Bruins desperately needing a top-six scoring winger, Kreider could be a player worth real consideration. It's no secret that GM Don Sweeney likes Kreider as a player. The Bruins were heavily linked to him during the 2019-20 season before he signed an extension with the Rangers in February 2020.
