The largest car Hyundai has ever made – the Ioniq 9 – is a giant electric SUV heading to Australia next year, but is it any good?

Hyundai revealed Wednesday the new Ioniq 9, an all-electric three-row SUV — and its largest EV to date — based on the Seven concept that we saw in 2021.

The Hyundai Ioniq 9 features a huge 110kWh battery offering up to 385 miles of range. The three different power options are Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive, Long Range All-Wheel Drive and Performance All-Wheel Drive, the latter with its high-powered motors on the front and rear axles getting from 0-62mph in just 5.2 seconds.

The 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 9 production begins early in 2025 at the automaker's new assembly plant in Bryan County, Georgia. Pricing and trim details will be available closer to the on-sale date.

Based on the three-row Seven concept that debuted in 2021, Ioniq 9 is the biggest vehicle the Korean automaker makes, along with the three-row Palisade. It will also likely be the most expensive, continuing the run of pricey EVs aimed at premium buyers willing to pay $10,000-$20,000 north of petrol-powered peers.
