German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has arrived in Magdeburg where a car was driven into crowds of people at the festive market on Friday night, describing the attack as an "awful crime".

The warnings say anyone whose ability to stay in the United States depends on an academic visa should reduce their risks and get back before Jan. 20.
