STATE COLLEGE – Another game, another couple of records for Penn State star tight end Tyler Warren. The No. 4 Nittany Lions lead Maryland 31-7 at halftime on Saturday at Beaver Stadium.

Tyler Warren has broken Penn State Football’s record for most career touchdowns by a tight end. Warren’s 17 career touchdowns passed Pat Freiermuth’s 16 touchdowns and Mike Gesicki’s 15 scores. Late in the first quarter, Penn State tight end Tyler Warren added a new record to his career resume. Warren’s first catch of the game, a 20-yard gain against the Maryland defense, moved Warren into first place on the Big Ten leaderboard for the most receptions in a single season by a tight end.

Warren is near the end of what will likely be the most prolific career by a Penn State tight end. He has 124 receptions for 1,516 yards and 16 touchdowns in his career. He owns the school record for receiving yards by a tight end and needs six catches and one TD to hold the records in those categories.
