Orlando Pride Forward Marta Da Silva, known more commonly as Marta, joined the team in 2017 and is currently the team captain. The now 38-year-old Brazilian soccer player began her career in Europe. She made a name for herself and earned the No. 7 on Sports Illustrated’s Top 20 Female Athletes of the Decade from 2000 to 2009.

Orlando Pride, Marta win first NWSL championship thanks to a goal from Barbra Banda
Orlando claimed its first NWSL championship Saturday, narrowly besting the Washington Spirit 1-0 to earn the title. Zambia international striker Banda made the difference, beating Spirit goalkeeper Aubrey Kingsbury from close proximity in the 37th minute in an otherwise cagey affair at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City.
