Oscar-nominated director Jim Sheridan doesn’t think Gerard “The Monk” Hutch is an “intimidating figure” as he opened about making a movie with the veteran crime boss.

Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch has just missed out on the final seat in Dublin Central and quipped there was ‘never a guard around when you need one’ as he showed up at the RDS count centre on Sunday afternoon.

Gerard The Monk Hutch arrived to the RDS count centre to a media circus on Sunday afternoon as he was knocked out of the Dublin Central race during the final election count. Mr Hutch arrived to the count just after 3pm and stayed for 30 minutes but did not want to speak to the media.
